FOODS THAT CAUSE ACNE

HAMBURGERS-Some believe that low-grade red meat is very acidic (leading to inflammation),packed with growth hormones (zits) and spiked with antibiotics.

CHICKEN FINGERS-Though chickens are not given any hormones (the FDA and the USDA prohibit it), they produce plenty on their that are terrible for human skin.

ICE CREAM-It's sky high in zit summoning sugar and dairy...

It's unfortunate, but they are not good for us, especially dairy and sugar.

if, you just eliminate them slowly from your diet, you will see a change in your skin.

EXFOLIATION

One of the best methods used to keep the skin radiant and healthy is through regular exfoliation.  This is the process to remove dead cells and dirt on your skin.  Microdermabrasion is excellent for this. This treatment is excellent for removing cells and oil that cause the pores to get clogged leading to the development of common skin problems, such as pimples, blackheads and acne.  In some cases of extreme acne microdermbrasion should not be used because it can be too stimulating. But, you can tell when the skin looks patchy and dull, that it needs to be exfoliated.

MELASMA-KNOWN AS HYPER PIGMENTATION

Melasma is a tan or deep brown facial skin discoloration typically shown in the center of the face

It is particularly common in women. Pregnant women, those who take oral contraceptives and hormone replacement therapy. THIS IS WHY IT IS SO IMPORTANT TO WEAR SUNSCREEN, ALSO THAT IT CAN HELP PREVENT PREMATURE AGING ON THE SKIN AND THE MOST IMPORTANT.....SKIN CANCER.

REASON FOR SCARRING IN ACNE SKIN

There is a loss of atrophy in the dermal which makes the skin sink.  There are things that help with this...

(1) Fillers

(2) Laser Treatments

(3) Micro Needling which has become very popular

Rosacea

While the cause of Rosacea is officially unknown, research has attributed it to poor circulation, sluggish lymph, genetic predisposition, digestive disorders, bacteria, and mites attached to cells.

It is always best to see a dermatologist if you even think you might have rosacea.

Rosacea can worsen overtime, I have a little of it myself and really have to watch my diet and the products that I use on my skin.

Typical rosacea sufferers are fair skinned women aged 30-60.

Symptom triggers can be: Spicy Foods, hot foods, and alcohol, as in Wine.  Mood changes can also be a sign of rosacea.  I do offer a facial for sensitive skin, and use nothing but organic products.

BENEFITS OF DRY BRUSHING

Since our weather here in Houston has been especially cold these last few days causing our skin to become so extremely dry:

I would like to let you know some benefits of the above.

*removes dead skin cells

*stimulates the lymphatic system

*regulates and increases blood circulation

*rejuvenates the nervous system

*Helps hold oils and moisturizes into the skin

DO VEGANS HAVE BETTER SKIN?

First of all I am sure I don't have to tell you that fast food is a NO,NO!!!!!!!!

What we call the Western Diet which is full of fat and dairy is not good for the skin or our weight.  Unsurprisingly, eating vitamin-packed fruits and vegetables staves off blemishes better than anything.  But, a dermatologist said the thing vegans really get right is to stay away from DAIRY! If, you are eating a lot of dairy foods and having trouble with breakouts, just try little by little riding it from your diet.  See what happens to your skin.

Researchers found that people that eat unprocessed,low-fat,plant based diets-have discovered entire communities without a single pimple among them. Not ONE!

Just a Few Little Tips!

Water actually dries and damages skin

IRONIC! Water on its own will dry out your skin as it eats your skins naturally protective oily sebum layer. Keep showers short and the temperature turned to luke warm.

ESSENTIAL OILS can promote sun damage.

Some contain ingredients that magnify the effects of UV...be careful when using citrus oils like bergamot, lemon and lime

This can also happen with perfumes as well!

VITAMIN C

treats

dark skin marks

whether it's hyperpigmentation or age spots, vitamin C helps to brighten these

areas & protect against new ones forming.

MY RECOMMENDATION FOR A VITAMIN C PRODUCT IS SKINCEUTICALS VITAMIN C WITH FERULIC ACID....

SALICYLIC ACID

is perfect for

Acne Prone Skin

Salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliant that's also antibacterial...

it helps stop dead skin cells from

feeding spot causing bacteria...

*Heat doesn't open your pores!!!!*

Heat causes muscles to relax & skin to expand...

pores don't have muscles, so steaming skin doesn't open them.

It softens the skin, and makes extraction easier.

*A Must Know if you use glycolic acids*

Studies have shown that glycolic acid increases skins

sensitivity to the sun...always use daily sun protection

if you're a regular user of this

chemical exfoliate...

*Blue Light Therapy*

targets/destroys acne bacteria

it is also gentle on the skin,

I like to use it on my acne therapy facials.

Your skin needs oil...

The top layers of skin are oil based.

They lock hydration in & defend aganist

bacteria & viruses...using strong facial

washes removes these oils.

Rosehip Oil-

Why it's famous?

Rosehip Oil is the only natural plant source

of vitamin A/tretinoin/retinoic acid...

the ingredient proven to reverse signs

of ageing like fine lines and wrinkles...

Milia

What are they?, I get asked this all the time...

milia are small white, ball like (benign)

cysts that are common under the eyes.

They are collections of dead skin cells that can also

show up on the forehead and cheeks.

They can be treated usually, with a needle.

( suggest that you do not try this yourself)

Inflammatory Acne!

what is it???????

Spots that are reddened and raised

...are inflammatory...They're the

result of a plug of dead skin

feeding spot causing bacteria

causing your immune system

to react by becoming inflamed.

BLACKHEADS

treat and prevention

Salicylic acid exfoliation is best for blackheads

that already exist...physical exfoliation is best kept for prevention.

BLACKHEADS

What are they?

A blackhead is a spot that has an open head...oil, dead skin & impurities

are trapped inside.  Blackheads appear black because the mix inside has

oxidised...just like the flesh from an apple when it has come in contact with air.

YOUR EYE CARE

FIRST OF ALL NEVER USE FACIAL LOTIONS ON YOUR EYES.

OR NIGHT CREAMS THEY CAN CAUSE YOUR EYES TO LOOK PUFFY THE NEXT MORNING.

ALWAYS, USE A CREAM SPECIFICALLY FOR THE EYES.

IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE EXPENSIVE SOME OF THE BEST ONES ARE IN THE DRUG STORES.

THE SKIN AROUND THE EYES IS THE THINNEST ON THE FACE. THAT'S WHY IT GETS WRINKLES.

GET YOURSELF AN EYE CREAM SO YOUR EYES NOT LOOK CREPEY THE NEXT DAY, YOUR BLOOD VESSELS ARE MORE LIKELY

 TO READ AS DARK CIRCLES.
